When your house is damaged, it causes enormous changes to your daily lifestyle. Even when it’s covered under your insurance, you still have to deal with people stopping by frequently and taking the time for the damaged portion to be repaired. While it’s never a completely painless process, at Botting Builders, we make it as simple and straightforward as possible. When you choose us to handle your insurance jobs in Southland, you’ll get an experienced building crew that’s efficient and considerate. We aim to minimise disruptions to you and your family and work quickly to get everything back to the way it should be.

Aren’t insurance repairs chosen by my insurance company?

While your insurance company will have a recommended company that they work with, you’ll generally have the option to choose your own. The purpose of an insurance job is to take a broken or damaged section of your home and restore it to at least as good of condition as it was in before. Sometimes, this requires putting in new countertops, bathroom fixtures, siding, and so on. With experienced builders who work quickly and effectively, we’ll do whatever we can to get the job done fast, and get it done right.

Why should I choose Botting Builders for insurance repairs?

As a locally-owned, Southland-based company, you don’t have to wait through long queue times to speak with us. In fact, all jobs are organised by owner-operator Bevan Botting, a registered Master Builder with 20 years of building experience. Instead of having your message relayed through a large corporate office and hoping it reaches the right person, you can call and talk with Bevan directly and have your questions answered by the same person who will do the work on your home. Call us today for your insurance job or other home building project and see for yourself!

If you like the location of your home but wish that some aspects could be improved—such as adding a room, upgrading the kitchen, or having more modern bathroom fixtures—instead of selling the home and looking for another that has what you want, consider getting home renovations from Botting Builders. As a local Southland building and renovation company, we’ve worked with clients around the region to turn the house they endure into a home that they love. And you could be next!

Should I renovate my house or sell it?

Depending on your situation, it could be better to renovate or it could be better to move. This choice depends on many factors, including:

  • Location. Location is perhaps the most important aspect of a home. Do you like where you’re at right now? Are you okay with the neighbours, the school that your children attend, and your yard? If these are positives, a remodel may be the better option.
  • Budget. In our experience, even a lot of people who think they know exactly what they want have more ideas or come up with changes after the initial design is approved. While these changes are possible, they can add up quickly, so it’s important to know your budget and try to accomplish your goals with some room to adjust costs if needed.
  • Home Foundation. Not every house is a good option to renovate. If there are serious issues with the foundation or structure, major renovations might come at a risk or be impossible to do. As part of our renovation service, we’ll make sure that your home is in good condition and can withstand the changes.
  • Time and space required. Bigger remodelling projects can take time. During the process, we’ll need to be in and out of your house regularly, and you might not be able to use certain rooms or appliances at times. This can be tough for some families, but once it’s done, you’ll be left with something amazing that you’re sure to love!

Ready to remodel your home?

Renovations can significantly change your feelings about your home in a positive way. As registered Master Builders, we’re skilled and experienced and always put your needs first. We can help you make your house something that you’re proud to call your home. If you’re considering remodelling, make sure you give us a call first, or fill out a contact form with any questions you have.

Building a home from the ground-up offers a lot of advantages. One of the biggest ones is that you get to design everything your way and customise it to your heart’s content. You can do as much or as little work as you want with the design, from choosing specific colours and styles of outlet plates to having us recommend and create a design based on aspects that are important to you. At Botting Builders, our goal is to build more than a house for you; we want to create your dream home that you’ll never want to leave!

How involved am I with the new home building process?

As much as you want to be! Throughout our nearly 10 years of building homes, we’ve worked with clients who want to be involved in every step and others who prefer to let us take charge and are more interested in the finished product.

Design is an important part of the process because we’ve seen that well-designed houses save money, both with the home itself as well as planning the interior design ahead of time. When possible, we want you to have as much input as you’re willing to give and not to rush things so that you have time to consider everything and think things over, but if you’ve already planned everything out and are ready to move forward right away, we can do that too!

What if I have a strict budget for my new home?

Even if you’ve spent years saving up, you probably have a budget that you need to stick to. We know that going over it can be a huge problem, so we do our best to stick with it. Our upfront quotes are comprehensive and cover most things that come up, but there’s always the possibility of something unusual or unforeseen that can cause an increase in price. If that happens, we always let you know right away and let you decide if you want to proceed or come up with an alternative at the same or cheaper price.

Every part of the home building process is managed by us

We try to make the home building process as simple as possible. One way we do so is by managing every aspect of the new build. All work will be done by our registered Master Builders directly; we don’t subcontract any of the building work. And any work that requires a certified professional, such as plumbing or electrical work, will be organised by us. This allows for less stress for everyone and means you can simply talk to us if you need something or want information about any part of the build. Ready to learn more? Give us a call or fill out a contact form now!
